Variety’s Children’s Charity of Texas held its annual Texan of the Year event to honor their amazing partners and raise support for their mission of opening up the world for kids with special needs and their families. This was an extra special year, as guests enjoyed a night at the Galaxy Theatre. The evening started as every night at the movies should, with a red carpet entrance. Guests were greeted by Teddy, a very friendly steer, then ushered into a private theater. There they enjoyed moving speeches by the two Variety awards winners of the night: Tres Jackson and Derek Alley, CEO of VCC. The night ended with a bang as guests savored delicious bites provided by Grandscape eateries and rode on the iconic Grandscape ferris wheel. It was a lively night that would not have been possible without the generous donations of Galaxy Theater, Davio’s, Andretti Karting, Quartino, and Walk-On.
