The Interfaith Action of Central Texas’s A Night Under One Sky gala brings together people of many different backgrounds and beliefs to celebrate a shared vision. The theme of this year’s event was kindness, and you could truly feel the kindness in the room. Guests entered the Branch Park Pavilion to start the night with warm welcomes and catching up, as well as entertainment from two of our favorite vendors: Make it Pop Productions and Dave Madden and friends. Dinner consisted of a delicious buffet by Sap’s Ver Fine Thai Cuisine with sweet ‘tater tarts, a Jennifer Cumberbatch original, and mini pecan pies, a Chez Zee classic, for dessert. In keeping with the pie theme, the traditional paddles up got a sweet twist when guests were able to bid on full size versions of the mini desserts, followed by a delightful Q&A in which Jennifer Cumberbatch and Sharon Watkins compared kindness to pie making. The puns were *pie*tiful and so were the words of wisdom. iACT events are always such a joy to experience and this night was no exception.
