August 2024
This year’s Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas Ice Ball was an extra special 20th Anniversary celebration, and it was an event befitting the occasion. True to its name, the Ice Ball had a show stopping ice sculpture celebrating the 20 year mark. This year’s signature photo op, Ice Ball Memories, provided an opportunity for guests to look back on their fondest memories from past Ice Balls. With a 360 photo booth, permanent bracelet station, music from Barton Strings quartet and Austin Nines, and more, it’s safe to say that the event wasn’t lacking in entertainment. But, the stars of the night were Little Sister Robin, her Big Sister Hannah, and her grandmother Dee, who shared their heartwarming story. The program ended with a moving surprise when Candy and Rhett Stone received BBBS’s first ever life-time achievement award for their years of support, presented by their Little Brother from 40 years ago. What a way to celebrate the last 20 years of Ice Ball and kick off the next 20!
