Interfaith Action of Central Texas held its annual Hope Awards to honor those who embody the practice of hope: Susan Dawson, Rev. Freddie Dixon, and Saint James’ Episcopal Church. Rev. Dr. Steven Tomlinson gave a moving keynote speech on the “Practices of Hope,” and iACT refugee client Komel Hekmati shared his inspiring story. The stage was decorated with a single red bench, an important iACT symbol that represents a place for conversations that cultivate peace and respect. Guests from many different backgrounds and beliefs gathered together as one to celebrate iACT’s inspiring work and support its future.
