Touch-A-Truck

Saturday, May 9th was all smiles as families and children of all ages attended Austin Children’s Services annual Touch-A-Truck event at Camp Mabry. This family friendly event exposes attendees to touch and explore a variety of construction, emergency, and recreational vehicles that play a part in our community. Vehicles from Austin Fire and Police Department, Austin ISD, Capital Metro, Community Waste Management, and Laivins Race Cars are a just a few who participated this year. Attendees chowed-down Austin-style from a variety of food trucks with P. Terry’s, Short Bus Subs, Kona Ice, and more.

From 9am-3pm, families and children enjoyed castle bounce houses, an inflatable obstacle course, a trackless train, and carnival games provided by Party-N-Jump. Tiny Tails, a tiny traveling petting zoo, also brought their adorable baby critters offering everyone to a unique interactive experience combining petting and holding with learning facts about the different animals. The Austin Children’s Services showed everyone of how that special moment when the members of the community great and small come together, a beautiful collaboration happens.
