The Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce (GABC) promotes the progression of African-American businesses and the extension of the community by providing resource and technical support, while endorsing convention and tourism. More than 600 guests attended the 2015 Small Business Awards Gala, which highlighted the amazing talent of African-Americans in business and diversity champions for their outstanding accomplishments. The Honorable Steve Adler, Mayor, City of Austin served as honorary chair and Shawn Taylor, President of Zaxby’s Houston delivered a inspirational keynote address.
The evening began at the downtown Hilton in the Austin Grand Ballroom with attendees all dressed for a memorable black tie event. The Austin Samba kicked off the night playing drums and trumpets while wearing beautiful Brazilian costumes. GABC President and CEO, Natalie Madeira Cofield, welcomed guests and together everyone celebrated the diverse range of individuals from our community attending the evening. Awards were presented to 16 small business owners, emerging leaders and corporate partners. Following the awards ceremony, DJ Kay Cali rocked the crowd while everyone danced the night away!
